`Meet Diesel - The Sweet Shy Guy Looking for a Patient Home`
Hello there, my name is Diesel and I am a young male Dachshund mix. I may be small, weighing only 18lbs, but I have a big heart that is just waiting to find its forever home.
I came from a difficult background in a hoarding case, but I am ready to leave all that behind and start a new chapter of my life. My ideal home would be one with patient and understanding humans, without any children or loud noises. I may seem like a loner at first, but I just need some time to learn to trust people and come out of my shell. I am a curious and independent pup, but I also have a quiet and shy side that I am hoping to overcome with the right person by my side.
Physically, I have been described as a cute and handsome boy with a solid build. My activity level is laid back, so I won`t need a lot of exercise, but I would love to have a companion animal in my new home. I get along well with other dogs and I prefer the company of adults, but if you have any potential doggy siblings, we should definitely meet first.
I do have some special needs when it comes to behavior, so I am looking for someone who is willing to be patient and understanding as I learn to trust and love again. But I promise, once I open up, I will show you just how much love I have to give.
If you`re interested in meeting me, please come by and say hello. I am a bit shy, but I am longing for a loving home and I know I will make a wonderful companion for someone. Thank you for considering me. I can`t wait to meet you. I am fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and ready to go home with you, so please come visit me! . Please call between 10am-4pm to schedule an appointment to meet one of our animals! 928-282-4679

More about this shelter
Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.
Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.
The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.
The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.
Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.
The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
