Here's what the humans have to say about me:
1/29/24: Dorkie is a Dachshund Yorkie hence the name: Dorkie is 8 lbs and 9 years young. He is a great dog, that is not fond of someone in his face. He likes to be petted, sleeps with his foster and gets along great with the other small dogs as long as they don't challenge him (no big dogs). We don't recommend kids under 13. Kids need to understand his space issues and leave him be if needed.
He is mostly house trained and goes to the door to go out. He is crate trained. Walks well on a leash. Be the perfect dog for quiet couple or individual. He has come a long way since his intake in 2022.
UPDATE: July 2022 Dorkie was previously adopted and was just returned for being pushy with other dogs and will need a patient experienced parent. If he knows that the behavior will not be tolerated. He is house, and crate trained. Once he realizes his pushiness will not be tolerated, he is good with other dogs that are not dominant. he is an active pup that follows you everywhere. He does get underfoot, so keep that in mind. He loves doing Zoomies and exploring so a fenced yard is needed.
4/1/2022 Dorkie is an owner surrender along with his brother. Purchased at Petland 7 years ago and never vetted. Both were covered in fleas. They had sibling rivalry and would do best apart.
Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs.
