My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sammy is a distinguished all-black senior with a single charming white spot on his chest, like a little badge of honor in his sleek ebony coat. Independent and thoughtful, Sammy takes his time to warm up to new friends, but once he does, his gentle affection and tender purrs will win your heart.

Sammy enjoys a calm and serene lifestyle, making him the perfect companion for an indoor home where quiet moments are treasured. He thrives in the company of adults or mature children who appreciate his tranquil nature and respect his need for patience when building trust.

This big-hearted sweetheart isn’t looking for playtime antics - just a soft spot to call home, loving companionship, and someone to admire his quiet charm. Sammy is ready to share his golden years with a family who understands the beauty of a slow and steady friendship. Could that be you? Come meet this endearing gentleman today!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
