Sweet lil Alice!

This girl went on an outing to Muleshoe Bend to enjoy the bluebonnet season a little while ago and she had a blast! She sniffed in the flowers, enjoyed lots of walking and posed perfectly for oh so many pictures. She’s a patient, mature lady who has been at AAC for WAY too long.

Alice loves toys and her people. She happily checks in with Volunteer & Staff who are walking her, loves cuddles, affection and belly rubs.

She comes with many other positive attributes - she’s house trained, leash trained, motivated by treats (big plus when it comes to training), and she knows Sit already. Are you looking for a cuddly sweet heart? Consider adding Alice to your family!

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note, Adoption and Pet Resource Center lines close at 6:00 p.m. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.
