Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you are looking for a friendly, athletic pup then Sugarplum is the one for you. She loves everyone, once she gets to know you. She demands attention. No sitting on the couch for you once she is in your home. You really need a second dog to play with her. She is in constant motion and can be a little chewy if left on her own. However, she is great on a leash and sleeps in her kennel without complaint at night.
She still jumps up on you but is getting better. If you hold your hand out, she is likely to lick it and anything including your face. This is a dog who has had little socialization, so you will have to be patient with her. She now sits, but stay is another matter. She is likely to twist herself into a pretzel while wagging her tail.
She is spayed, vaccinated, and on heart worm preventatives. The vet estimates she is about one year old. She is very petite and is full grown. She moves so much she is about 30 pounds but looks skinny.
She loves toys and treats. Sometimes she doesn’t know what to do with toys, but is very smart. She must have been abused because if you yell at her, she ducks and hides. It will require a firm hand, but a gentle one to get her attention.
She zooms in and out the doggie door and gets along with all four pups in our house including male and female. She is lightening quick. She has not been cat tested, but if birds are in your yard, they won’t be for long. I definitely would suggest a fenced yard. She will try to escape out the door and runs like the wind. She spends a lot of time outside, even by herself. She zooms out the dog door at the slightest noise even if the others don’t follow.
She has been known to bark at visitors, but if you introduce her, she soon demands they pet her. She is definitely not aggressive. No food aggression as well. She shares bowls with my group and will be a great addition to an active family.
If you are looking for a running buddy or an agility dog, I feel she would be great. If you can keep her attention, flyball and frisbee might be in her future as well.
