Skipper here, reporting for duty. I'm a sweet young guy hoping to be the captain of your heart. I'm a about a year old - a great age, because I already know basic things like how to sit and take treats politely, walk nicely on a leash and be friendly to other humans and dogs I meet. I'm also young enough and smart enough (it's those Shepherd genes) to quickly pick up on any new skills you'd like to teach me. I can't wait to meet you!

A team member says, "Skipper is such a good boy. He was a delight to take on a walk, and he loves to sit and lean against your legs for lots of pets and attention. He'll eventually flop over onto his back for belly rubs, which seems to be one of his favorite things."

Adoptions are completed on a first come, first served basis. Please note there may be a wait to meet with a pet, dependent on advisor availability.

Please allow plenty of time to meet your perfect pet. Once you have selected a pet, the adoption process will take at least 30 minutes. We do not begin the adoption process after 5:30 pm.

Animal Humane New Mexico performs a background check on all adopters & does not adopt to anyone who has committed a violent crime. We reserve the right to refuse an adoption for any reason.

Please note, visitors must wear their mask indoors at all Animal Humane locations.
