My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sterling is an active kitten that is usually busy—busy discovering everything life has to offer! She is busy playing, running, climbing, hiding, and racing to get in line for wet food and treats! She would surely enjoy a home of her own with lots of time to play, a few toys, and a small cat condo. She is also a lover. She likes snuggling in volunteer’s laps. She is a happy, fun-loving kitten that is looking for her forever home!

Sterling is FIV positive. FIV in cats is like HIV (the human immunodeficiency virus) and causes a feline disease that is like AIDS in humans. Although FIV is like AIDS in humans it is a highly species-specific virus that infects only felines. While there is currently no definitive cure for FIV in felines, with proper care there is no reason a cat infected with FIV cannot live a very normal, healthy life for years -- if managed appropriately.

Why not complete an application to make an appointment to meet Sterling! Then, see for yourself what a great, loving kitty she is.

More about this rescue

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) of Fort Myers is a not for profit animal welfare society dedicated to stopping the escalating cost to impound, care for, kill and dispose of dogs and cats dying for no reason other than having been born. ARC is helping to cut the large numbers of homeless animals which eventually cuts the costs to taxpayers, which to date has reached over half a million dollars a year.

ARC is a non-euthanasia organization. Once we accept an animal for adoption, IT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. We are here to help the unwanted and neglected animals who now face certain death.
