Say hello to Cammie, a smart, strong-willed, and affectionate girl who's looking for her forever home. Cammie is playful and energetic, always up for fun and games. She enjoys tug of war, chasing a ball in the yard, and chew toys. She's also a quick learner, ready for you train her to become the very bestest girl.
Cammie has learned a few tricks like “stay” and “leave it” since living in her current foster home. She may look so grown but she’s only a tweenager! So she’s gradually shedding her puppy habits like mouthing and more rowdy play. She continues to work on walking with a loose leash and practicing not to fixate on distractions in new environments. The cutest part of her walks are her uneven ears (see those pictures!), which are both super bouncy when she struts around!
As much as she enjoys play, Cammie is also good about settling down and cuddling with her humans. She will look at you with those grateful, loving puppy eyes when you give her a neck scratch, belly rub, and especially when you say hi to her in the morning or upon returning home. Although she’ll always welcome you home with happy tail wags and affection, Cammie is an independent girl, with no signs of separation anxiety, no potty accidents thus far, and no issues with leaving household objects alone when unsupervised. She has experienced being home alone both crated or uncrated, with no issues either way. She is sure to add so much joy to the family that offers her a forever home!
Cammie loves being close to her people and is very affectionate. She's playful, loves to have fun, and is sure to keep you entertained with her lively personality.

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of North Central Florida was created in 2018 when the leadership of the Alachua County Humane Society, Gainesville Pet Rescue, and Helping Hands Pet Rescue decided to permanently join forces. By becoming the Humane Society of North Central Florida, our organizations were able to effectively streamline services for pets and pet owners, eliminate any duplication of services, maximize our community’s resources, and improve the life-saving abilities of the entire region.
Our founding organizations have been dedicated to serving pets in Alachua County for more than 40 years. The Humane Society of North Central Florida is a limited intake, no-kill animal rescue shelter. The animals in our facility are transferred from open-intake and/or managed admission municipal shelters across North Central Florida. The Humane Society of North Central Florida is an independent, local 501(c)(3) organization. As such, we do not receive funding from federal agencies, nor are we affiliated with any other state or national organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States or the ASPCA.
