Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Yak is being fostered in PA.
Yak has some vision.
Yak is a very sweet, loving baby girl. She is friendly and playful with everything and everyone. She is crate trained. We are working on her potty and leash training as well as basic obedience, but she is smart and picking things up quickly. Yak is a cuddle bug and LOVES to be with her humans. Some of her favorite things are running around outside in the yard, playing with balls, and playing with other dogs. She LOVES to be outside. Ideally, Yak should have another friendly, playful dog in the home to play and hang out with, and a person or family that understands her breed.
Yak was born with juvenile cataract in her right eye, making her vision impaired. She can see but her vision isn’t perfect. She can be just like any other dog, but it takes Yak a little more time to warm up to her environment and surroundings, as well as her people. She is shy at first, but once she becomes familiar with her surroundings and people, her personality blooms and she becomes a little comedian. Yak will need someone that can be patient with her and continue to work with her to properly expose her to normal life without being afraid. Yak will do best with a family that understands her breed. Bouvier de Flanders is not a common breed and unlike most dogs, Bouviers are very aloof and laid back. They bond strongly to their people. They also require lots of ongoing socialization. The Bouvier is a herding breed so it would not be uncommon to see her trying to round up the kids or other pets.
BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
