My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Some people say my name is the alter ego Babylonian version of my sister Innanas. We are quite distinct as you can see, though, thank you very much! My name, like hers, is a nod to all I have overcome. We were born in a shed and while we were still very small our mother was killed, probably hit by a car. Some nice people were feeding other outdoor cats in the area and rescued us. I spent an extra week outside trying to survive. I get along well with other cats and kittens and love to play. I am really curious and like to see what is going on all around. Wand toys are my favorites, along with playing with my sister. When I am not playing, I am quiet, cool, content, and a bit more aloof than Inanna. I am happy to let her be the lap cat while I sit at peoples feet. We cats are all individuals and the world would be pretty boring if we were exactly the same. Together, we make a good pair - we are bonded and must be adopted together. We would do better in a home with adults only since I am a bit more sensitive and prefer calm environments. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
