Frankie is a 7-year-old long-hair mini-dachshund who came to us after her human passed away and the surviving folks just couldn't hang on to her long term. She's assimilated really well into her foster home, but she is ready to find her forever home!

Frankie is an energetic and playful girl who is obsessed with any toy with a squeaker. She likes to sprint around the house and show off her toys but also likes to fetch them if you toss it. While she didn't live with other dogs for most of her life, she is getting along well with the 5 other small dogs in her foster home. However, she hasn't shown interest in playing with the other dogs.

In her past, Frankie has some training so she knows some commands, including "place" to go into her crate. Yep, she is crate-trained too! She loves to please and show off her knowledge. Even in a whole new environment, she is also doing great with pottying outside. This girl is super smart!

Frankie loves to have access to her own bed where she will bring her toys, nap, and hang out, but given the option she wants to be right on your lap so she can sneak some kisses in. She has been known to be somewhat possessive of her human so her new home will need to make sure they reinforce acceptable boundaries and respect hers.

We think that Frankie would do great in most homes with dogs or cats, though she will need a proper and slow introduction to her new family. We haven't seen her around children so we would need to assess that on a case by case basis. Frankie is such a sweet girl and we are so excited to find her the perfect home.
