Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Big Orange is a great big hunk of purring love that has made the transition from life on the streets to the comforts of living indoors. A PetPromise volunteer had seen him outside a few times during the winter of 2021/2022 and was finally able to trap him in October of 2022. He was taken to the vet as a TNR as part of Pet Promise’s City Kitty Program. During his recovery, we realized he was friendly and decided to bring him into the foster program. He is FIV+ FELV- and is around 10 years young.
When he was rescued, Big Orange had a severe case of ear mites, ear infection and desperately needed a dental. Pet Promise fixed him up and now Big Orange is so much more comfortable. He fits in at his foster home and gets along with both cats and dogs. He is currently fostered with 4 FIV neg cats and a large cat friendly dog.
Big Orange is a gentle giant that loves attention and snuggling with his foster mom. He is a talkative guy that lets you know when he’s hungry and will come running when he hears the treat bag opening. Big Orange is very playful and likes all kinds of toys.
Big Orange is very healthy despite his FIV positive status. All he needs is an indoor only home and vet visits at least 2X a year. FIV+ cats can live long, healthy, fulfilling lives when given proper care and new science indicates that FIV+ and FIV neg cats can live together. As long as the cats are neutered and no fighting is happening, the new science suggests that the chance of transmission is relatively low. See https://www.humanesociety.org/news/fiv-positive-cats for more information.

We do our best to ensure that all of the PetPromise pets and their new owners are the perfect match, so the adoption process includes a mandatory home visit; for that reason, adoptions outside Franklin County, Ohio and contiguous counties may not be possible.
PETPROMISE DOES NOT HAVE A SHELTER. Our pets are housed in volunteer foster homes while awaiting adoption.
PETPROMISE HAS NO PAID STAFF. The people processing applications are volunteers with full-time jobs and families, so it may be several days before you receive a response to your application.
