Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Greg. Greggy. Gregory.
Greg arrived as owner surrenders at Austin Animal Center in May 2022. Greg's acclimation to the shelter environment took a while - but with the guidance and the lap of one of the volunteers he started to make friends and gain notoriety as one of the most affectionate dogs on campus.
While Greg cuddles were in high demand, his time at AAC was marred by recurrent ear infections and skin allergies - both leaving him perpetually uncomfortable. Many ear washes and trial diets later, he was transferred to Austin Pets Alive - the hope being that better medical management of these issues would make him more comfortable and more likely to be scooped up by a foster or an adopter.
But, even with his ear/skin issues improved, Greg continues to wait for his chance at home life. If you ask any one of Greg's advocates to describe what they love about him, they will first mention his snuggles - full body leans and lap sits . . . his deep, soulful eyes affirming that yes, you are his safe space . . . that peace is found in the loving embrace of close friends.
Greg is the perfect houseguest - house trained, non-destructive and, yes, 100% a lap dog.
Ready and waiting.
Sweet, soulful, sensitive Greg. His future home is kind and gentle - there are movie nights, snacks, couch cuddles . . . love and constancy will be chosen every day. This boy . . . he wants nothing more than to live quietly amongst trusted humans - to find solace in arms that will hold him forever.
Greg is currently available for foster or adoption .
