Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! My name is Sandy. I am approx. 2 -3 years young. I am listed as SPECIAL NEEDS because I am *INCREDIBLY SHY* and I need an experienced adopter who understands and appreciates this about me.
I do not like to be held and it will take a lot of patience and consistent work to gain my trust to pet me. I was a kitten when I was first rescued by Advocates 4 Animals. I was very shy due to the difficult start I had in life. I was adopted as a kitten, however, I was returned after the pandemic (and by thenI was over 2 years old). Being returned was very hard on me, especially since I am so shy.
I do fine with other cats and I prefer a home with another cat. I have not been around dogs. Although I am very shy I love being pampered and being indoors. I do like having wet/canned food (and we especially love tuna!).
I know it may not be possible to find a forever home that will love me just the way I am. I am VERY shy and I hide a lot when people are around. But I wanted to share my story and see if it might (by some miracle!) be possible, that the right forever home is out there for me.
Please note, I was spayed and vetted by Advocates 4 Animals when I was rescued, however, when I was returned, my paperwork was not returned with me. My FVRCP vaccination is not up to date as I am so difficult to get into a carriers and this has not been able to be accomplished. However, I have always been in excellent health and have had no health concerns while at A4A.
I have used the litter box well at A4A. I use a large, uncovered litter box with Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat litter (scooped daily). I love having a full bowl of dry food available at all times and a treat of wet/canned food once a day (before bed in the evening).
Because of my extreme shyness, I do need a calm home environment with no young children and no dogs. I do prefer a home with another cat.
I hope my miracle forever home is out there and finds me. I would be so appreciative to know that I am safe and loved - exactly as I am, even though I am *extremely* shy.
Love,
Sandy
(PS Photos are hard to take of Sandy as she is so shy and often hiding. These photos are a bit older. She is a full grown adult cat.)
