Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Golden Eyes (GE for short, such beautiful eyes) is one of our “Special Needs” kitties, although that is very much a misnomer! He doesn't require anything outside of what you would normally provide for any other kitty! He doesn't need any special diet, any special treatment, or any special cat supplies! So why do we label him "special needs"? Well, he was born with a condition known as Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) which is the incomplete formation of the cerebellum portion of the brain. This happens went the mother or kitten is very sick and does not get the nutrients needed to complete the formation of the cerebellum. This impacts the cats ability to walk, but has absolutely no impact on their health otherwise.
Sometimes known as “wobbly cats”, GE moves with a little unsteadiness or trembling. This does not slow him down at all! He loves to follow people around; he gets playful with his toys and tosses them in the air so he can chase them down; he also loves to explore all around the house, both upstairs and downstairs. He runs and plays and gets on chairs and couches! Just like any other kitty, he will crawl into boxes and small spaces to "size" them up!!
GE has many endearing quirks and will provide years of fun antics and warm laps. CH kitties live normal lives and do not need to go to the vet any more often than more “normal” kittens and cats. GE was a little over 3 years old when he came to us, and is only mild to moderately impacted by CH. He has no problems using his litterbox and can jump up on things like a sofa or bed without any issues. As with so many CH cats, GE seems to have been blessed with an extra portion of love! He is such a loving boy and is soft and sleek. As far as he is concerned, he is perfect, and one of the sweetest babies you will ever meet. And like all of our fur babies, GE is looking for his forever home. If you are open to falling in love with this most special boy, please contact Meowtown. He will steal your heart.
