My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harrison's Compatibility:
Dogs: Meet & Greet
Cats: Prefers his home cat-free
Kids: Teens and older for this big guy

Looking for an affectionate companion who truly appreciates every kind gesture? Then you have to meet Harrison! This charming senior boy arrived at the shelter emaciated and filthy, clearly lacking the love and care every dog deserves. But despite his rough start, Harrison is showing his sweet, gentle nature.

During his bath at the shelter, he soaked up all the attention, proving what a good boy he is. His gratitude for these small acts of kindness speaks volumes about his resilience and gentle heart. Harrison gets along well with other dogs but prefers to coexist rather than engage in rough-and-tumble play. He'd do best in a home without cats and with teenagers or older. He's everyone's favorite here-every day, the staff shower him with hugs and kisses, and he soaks it all in.

Having endured less than stellar care, Harrison is eager to finally experience the comforts of a loving home. His playful energy and love for toys reflect his optimism for the future. If you're looking for a dog who will repay your love tenfold with every tail wag and snuggle, Harrison is ready to begin that journey with you. Will you be the hero he's waiting for?

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
