How many treats can Maggie catch?

Behavior Notes:
Maggie's walk sheet as of December 16th:
Maggie was taken for a walk on December 9th, 10th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 16th by varying team members at ACCT. The walk on December 9th was noted to be an evaluation walk, with no further information listed. During Maggie's first walk on December 10th, she was noted to be medium energy, with a note that she is a 'lap dog'. For her second walk on December 10th, a slight issue was noted where Maggie noticed another dog and 'began straining on leash'. This team member also noted that Maggie 'spent lots of time in yard' and 'enjoyed fetch and getting some pets'. Maggie was easy to redirect inside, where her chain collar was removed and she received a bandana. She also sat very well for treats and 'returned to kennel like a dream'. For her walks on December 12th and 13th, no interaction information was shared, but the team member that walked her on December 13th agreed with her 'lap dog' demeanor previously noted on December 10th. During her walk on December 14th, it was noted that Maggie was high energy and had issues on the leash with reactivity ("reactive, hold tightly, tons of energy, pulls strongly"), but also that she was 'social with handler'. On December 16th, her energy was noted as high, but no further interaction information was shared.

Per volunteer 12/13: I have taken Maggie out two nights in a row and she is a really sweet girl . The first night she didn't know me so she was silent as a I approached her kennel but she was excited to get out so her head bobbed up and down and her tail wagged . I was able to leash her and out we went for a quick 5 laps as it was 8.55 pm . She is a very happy girl when she's outside and loves to explore her surroundings. We came back inside with no issues and Sue hopped right back into her kennel. Tonight, when she saw me she trotted over and barked at me , as she recognized me know and hadn't been outside today at all. She was very eager again to get out and I was able to leash her fine and we went out for about a good 15 min jog / walk . She did very well , not jumping one time during the whole 15 . When we stopped we sat down for a quick rest and she allowed all patting and she leaned in to me a bit also. She really is a well behaved girl and will go back into her kennel with just a little tug on the leash

Per staff 12/10: Brought Maggie out again today for some activity time. She was easy to leash today and was a bit less reactive on leash to other dogs today. In the room she allowed all over handling and was very wiggly and energetic! She ran around the room play bowing, toe tapping and would solicit from all three of us in the room. She would get overstimulated at times when playing and would jump up at us mouthing. She engaged in play with toys as well and had a lot of energy in the room. She would run around throwing the toys for herself and leaping on them.

Per staff 12/9:
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Maggie was already out of kennel for intake with staff when we grabbed her. We switched her out for our leash and the ACA removed his leash from her. She was very reactive in the kennels to other dogs and kept trying to fence fight but afterwards walked well. No issues returning

LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls very strongly

HANDLING:
In the room Maggie was highly stressed and was panting heavily in the room and had bloodshot eyes. We kept her on leash for a bit due to her reactivity in the lobby. She gave some mid level wags but remained extremely stressed while in the room. She allowed all over handling and would even roll over for belly rubs, but get distracted easily going back to pacing and whining. She did well meeting several staff members and did not display any reactivity while out today to anyone. Too stressed for treats today.

PLAY:
Too stressed

TOYS:
Not interest, too stressed

Notes from February 2024 (Previous name is Agnes):

Agnes is one of those pups who melts your heart as soon as you meet her! She has a kind heart, a gentle soul, and a love for life (and treats!). She is ranked as our easiest volunteer level, meaning she is so well-behaved that our brand new volunteers can take her out to learn the ropes. This is the kind of girl you want in your life!

Agnes came to ACCT on January20th as a stray, police drop-off. Since coming to ACCT, she has won the hearts of many staff and volunteers! She loves to give hugs and kisses to all her friends, and she has enjoyed meeting new friends and going out on day trips! Due to Agnes being at ACCT for about a month, she is timestamped and in need of a loving home or rescue where she can continue to receive all the love she deserves but also avoid this sweet girl deteriorating in the shelter.

Notes from Day Trip 2/13:
She was great throughout the day. She kept giving hugs and kisses, and was really happy on our walks!

Per Staff 2/9:
I got Agnes out for some activity time today! I noticed her jumping and barking at her door a lot today, so I thought she might need some out time to relax. When I approached her kennel she jumped up, but when she saw the leash she got right down. When I opened the door she pushed a little, but allowed me to leash her without issue. Agnes enjoyed getting lots of pets and treats. She did best with open hand treats, and licked them right out of my hand. We spent most of our time with Agnes in my lap giving kisses and loving all the scratches. She is such a cuddle bug! She gets right up in your face and gives a ton of kisses. If you love kisses, Agnes is your girl! She chased around some toys but didn't take possession of anything. She's here for treats and love! As she got more and more excited she did get a little mouthy and jumpy, but she was still gentle. Agnes seems to be getting more stressed in kennel, but is still the sweetest girl. She seemed to like a hard stick toy that I decided to give her in kennel; hopefully it gives her some distraction. When going back to kennel she hopped right in and let me unleash her without issue.
Agnes may also be in heat as she is enlarged, there were a few tiny blood drips in the eval room, and as I put her back in kennel I noticed more old blood in her kennel. (I did not see any visible injuries either.)

Notes from Playgroup 2/7:
Agnes left playgroup quickly today. upon entering she was trying to neck other dogs and became assertive quickly, trying to start fights with other dogs

Per Volunteer 2/3:
Such a sweet lady and very easy to handle! No issues leashing or walking her, she has nice leash manners. Took her out for the photoshoot and she allowed us to put a tutu on her! Super sweet and tolerant. She knows sit and very treat motivated. Enjoys cuddling and pets, leans into you. Super sweet lady!

On 1/31, Agnes was noted to have a persistent and worsening upper respiratory infection despite being on medication and was started on enrofloxacin in addition to the Doxycycline started on 1/24. Since then, she has recovered and is no longer on medication at this time.

On 1/24, Agnes came down with an upper respiratory infection and was started on Doxycycline.

Per Staff 1/24:
Agnes wandered around the room exploring and then came over to us wagging with soft eyes. She was shy but very sweet and affectionate. She allowed full body handling and would nudge herself closer while petting her. She also liked the beef lung treats and would take them very gently when offered.

Per Staff 1/24:
Agnes was easy to leash. She was standing at the front of the kennel with low wags and neutral body language. She dodged the leash a couple times but then sniffed it and allowed the handler to leash her. Pulls minimally on the leash. Housebroken. Loose/Allows all handling. Agnes wandered around the room exploring and then came over to us wagging with soft eyes. She was shy but very sweet and affectionate. She allowed full body handling and would nudge herself closer while petting her. She also liked the beef lung treats and would take them very gently when offered. Engages in play. She was interested in toys but does not take possession

On 1/23, during the exam, it was noted that Agnes had a mild sneeze and a single hack when pulling on the slip lead. She also had mild dental calculus and skin inflammation, along with caudal dorsal alopecia, prompting consideration of flea allergy dermatitis and underlying atopy versus food allergies. Agnes was described to be very friendly and hyper throughout the exam, and she allowed belly pets.

Per Staff 1/23:
Agnes added to playgroup today. Upon nearing the the fence, exhibiting excessive drooling. When brought to the gate she displayed mid level tail wags. Upon entering greeted other dogs appropriately and engaged in play quickly. Didn't like sudden advances but only cowered and moved away, did not correct, Happy to coexist and engage in some play, but no rough play.

On 1/22, during the intake exam, it was noted that Agnes's ears were waxy, her eyes were red, and there was redness around her nose. She was also noted to have flaky pink skin, but otherwise, she appeared bright, alert, and responsive, exhibiting high energy and jumping up a lot.
