Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Spencer is a handsome brown and white tabby DSH! He's a sweet and friendly boy who loves to cuddle and get scratches behind his ears. Spencer weighs about 14 pounds, so he's a big boy, but don't let his size intimidate you! He's a gentle giant who loves to snuggle and warms up to new people quickly. Spencer would do best in a home with no other cats. His estimated DOB is 10/1/20. Spencer came to the shelter as a stray, so we don't have any background information on him. When he arrived, Spencer tested positive for FIV. NOTE: An FIV+ cat will have the same life span as an FIV negative cat, as long the cat receives proper medical care and attention. FIV is spread amongst cats by direct blood contact (usually through a deep puncture wound). FIV is not transmissible to humans.
Spencer has a food allergy and requires special food and daily medications. He does require a medical consult with the HSPC vet prior to leaving shelter.
Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Please note that the kennels close for pet viewing at 4:30pm.

More about this shelter
The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.
The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.
The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
