Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Peter
Meet Peter! He's a one year old 15 pound Westie mix ready for a fresh start! Peter has spent his whole life tied up outside, even in inclement weather. Thanks to a caring foster, Peter is now enjoying the comfort of an inside home for the first time. Despite a challenging start, Peter is eager to turn the page on his past and find a forever home filled with love and cuddles. Located in Gulfport, MS this little guy is looking for a local adoption hero to show him the true meaning of family.
Though initially shy, Peter is a quick learner and promises to become your loyal sidekick with a bit of love and patience. He's already making strides in housetraining and is a pro at cozying up in his crate. Peter's social charm extends to his furry friends – he's a fan of dogs his size and is on good terms with the feline crowd. Friends with dogs and kitties too is a huge plus wouldn't you say?
As Peter is heartworm positive, he will have upcoming vet visits which is why we're seeking an adopter who is local, no more than about a half hour from Gulfport. Our rescue will support you throughout his heartworm treatment and we cover the treatment cost. A foster-to-adopt option is also available if you would like to try him out with your family first to see how it goes.
This little guy deserves the best future after the neglected past someone chose for him. If you would like to consider making this special pup the newest member of your family, keep reading below...

To apply for adoption, please go to www.animalaidms.org/adopt and complete our online application. If your application is approved and you're a great fit for this dog, we will reply with a phone call. We may also reach out about other dogs in our rescue that are similar and/or another wonderful option for you.
Note: Please submit an application through our website at link above. We need that actual application and not simply a Adoptapet inquiry. Be sure to complete the entire application as incomplete applications will not reach us.
