Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Are you looking for an affectionate, loyal, loving and expressive potato? Then you must introduce yourself to Figgy! Figgy (also affectionately nicknamed Piggy) likes belly rubs, snuggles on the couch, toys, and canine friends. This cattle dog mix has a sad backstory: A local postal worker alerted KHS about an injured stray dog he spotted along his delivery route near our main shelter. Figgy was shivering in a nearby parking lot for two days, unable to move due to an injured leg and infection. A KHS team member scooped her up and walked her to our Sam Swope Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center for immediate care. Figgy spent time in a foster home healing, and her foster family says that Figgy was completely potty trained and would even do her business on command of "go potty." She loved meeting new people and canine friends. We think Figgy may have been fed people food before coming to KHS, as she's a bit overweight, but she is trimming down nicely with healthy food, and she loves going for walks. This affectionate, sweet pup is now ready for a family of her own. She is spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. All she needs is you! (And a few toys to destroy.)
Figgy is a resilient 4-year-old cattle dog mix with a heartwarming story of recovery and love. Found injured by a compassionate mailman, Figgy's fortunes changed when she was rescued by KHS from the harsh elements. This spirited canine has overcome adversity and blossomed into a sweet and affectionate companion. While Figgy may initially display shyness, her warm and gentle nature shines through once she feels comfortable in her surroundings. A testament to the healing power of compassion, Figgy embodies the spirit of resilience and the joy that comes from second chances.
