Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I'm Nala! I made my way to a nice couple's home in Puerto Rico, after I was left to fend for myself. :( They took me in to keep me safe, but needed help from the Puerto Rico Dog Fund (PRDF) to find me a perfect home and make sure I was matched with the best family that I sooo deserve!
My fosters say I'm a great dog: I love to go on 2x daily leash walks at the beach, I know sit/stay/outside potty. I learned really quickly the boundaries of the home (inside and out) and respected them immedately! I LOVE other dogs and kids, and I am very social. I've been trying to play with the cat, but so far she's having none of it; however, my team believes I would be cat -friendly. I'm such a people-pleaser! I follow my peeps around while they do their thing, and am very quiet until it's playtime! They say I'm a wonderful dog and very smart (not suprised, huh?) :) I am silky soft!
My foster family is so great, that they are sponsoring my spay appointment at the end of the month. This makes sure I won't have any more babies and saves the expense for my new family. Although I am on my preventative medicines (flea/tic) and have been checked by the vet, I'll also get a 4dx test to make sure I'm negative before I'm allowed to be adopted out. These two major milestones will determine when PRDF can pick my family, and is part of the rescue's normal protocol to ensure healthy adoptions.
Until then, please apply! It takes a lot of coordination to get a dog over 20 lbs off the island, and they would love to send me to the area / state in which my family lives. If not, I will head to a foster home in the state that is a match between the volunteer Flight Angel taking me and the foster home receiving me.
Hope to be in your arms soon!
