My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Harvey comes to Animal Advocates after being rescued by local good samaritans who saw him hanging out in their neighborhood. At first hesitant and wary of people, Harvey has come a long way in his short time at the rescue.  Harvey has become quiet a ham - he LOVES catnip and any kind of treat (as the saying goes, the quickest way to a man's heart is through his stomach).  With a Churu or two, Harvey quickly warms up and gives head butts and seeks out pets from trusted caregivers at the rescue.

Harvey enjoys siting on the the enclosed "catio" and hanging with the other felines at the rescue - especially his pal Peony.  Peony protects and assures Harvey, and increasingly friendly Harvey helps spicy Peony realize that people aren't so bad!

Harvey has soft grey tabby fur with white around his face.  His birthday is estimated in August 2022.  Harvey has tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, vaccinated as well as neutered and microchipped. Harvey will take some time to adjust to any new situation so an experienced and patient, quiet home situation will be best.

To meet Harvey visit www.animaladvocates.net and complete an adoption application (located under the "Adopt" menu).   A discounted adoption fee is offered when considering bringing home two cats.  And, as a bonus, you get to watch Harvey and Peony snuggle and in an adorable cuddle pile. Thank you for considering a rescue cat from Animal Advocates!

Adoption Guidelines:
- Before scheduling a meet-and-greet with one of our adoptable cats or dogs, you must complete an application and interview with an adoption team member.
- You must be 21 years or older.
- All animals in your home must be up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed / neutered.
- If you rent, we will need a copy of your lease stating the landlord permits pets along with the landlord’s contact information.
- We do not place animals as gifts for others.
- Adopted animals must be kept as indoor companions.
- We reserve the right to perform a home visit.

We aim to provide high quality care for the well-being of rescued cats and dogs until they are placed in forever homes. All animals are regularly vet checked, fully vaccinated, spayed / neutered and microchipped. They are routinely treated for fleas and worms as well as any medical issues.

Except for a limited number of cats fostered at our headquarters, our adoptable animals are cared for in loving volunteer foster homes. We get to know the pets’ personalities and needs very well, striving to make the best possible match for both animals and adopters.
