Good day! My name is Tazlina (aka Tala) and I'd love to tell you a bit about me. I'm a young girl (born in January 2023) with a sweet spirit, 3 paws, and I get along well with other dogs and kids. I'm a labrador mixed breed, so if you know anything about labs, you'll find that I live up to the typical traits of being loyal and resiliant by nature.
Faced with a challenging start to life, I was rescued in the Middle East at 5 months old with a broken paw. Despite numerous efforts to save it, surgery became inevitable, leading to the eventual amputation of my left front leg. The process included attempts to keep at least half for prosthetics, but infections and bleeding left no choice but to fully amputate. You can see the videos attached here document my "stump", and just how happy and sweet I am now that I'm living infection and pain free after the final round of surgeries.
Being a tripaw has not diminished my zest for life! My delightful personality shines through in my gentle demeanour, and I'm bursting with enthusiasm at the thought of being able to explore beyond these shelter walls! I would love to go on walks with you, meet other dogs, and return home to cuddle with the family.
As one of many shelter dogs here, I have received some minimal leash training and have picked up some skills. With the right human(s) who will be patient with me and kind along the journey of further training, I'm sure to adjust well to commands and praise. I am not yet house trained, please help me with the proper guidance.

My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Due to the present confrontational Middle East environment where this dog resides, airlines are minimally operating. He/She may therefore be delayed in arriving to Canada. He/She will eventually be sent, but we have no specified timeframe at this moment. If you are willing to wait, we and this dog appreciate your patience.

Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.
Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.
Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.
[TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis.
