Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Macho!
Macho was a stray who was never claimed sadly. He is guessed to be around 4 years old and weighs 70lbs
DNA: Macho was DNA tested and we found that his top 5 Breeds are..... 28% American Pit Bull Terrier 28% German Shorthaired Pointer 18% American Staffordshire Terrier 11% Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) 6% Boxer
This boy has the demeanor of the American Staffordshire Terrier he is SO laid back and just want's love and attention.
He does well with other BIG dogs, he does NOT do well with small dogs or cats so he needs a home where he can either be the only dogs or have one buddy who is comparable in size to him
He is Fully Vetted including Neuter, Heartworm Tested (negative), Monthly Preventatives for Fleas/Ticks/HW, Fully Vaccinated including Rabies as well as Microchipped.
Macho has spent the last 22 weeks in training with the Puppies for Parole Program, he has finally GRADUATED!! And looking for his new forever home.
Macho has excelled in his training and learned all kinds of tricks! Here is what we have all learned about this amazing boy!
1. He would do best with dogs his size (no small dogs or cats) 2. Rember to take a look at his DNA results, as his breeds play a role in some of qualities 3. He is easily distracted by birds…. Bees… Butterflies! (Hence the GSP in his bloodline for the bird distraction) 4. He does not like people to lean over him.. So no hovering! 5. He prefers to be the “leader” with other dogs and his human, he will need guidance! 6. He likes it when you hide treats in his kennel so he can find them! 7. Once he has established his home he will guard it, BUT he can be directed away. This is in no way an aggressive manner just a territorial stance, most all dogs will establish their area. 8. He likes to greet new people with his WHOLE ENTIRE SELF… So be cautious of the cuddles you are fixing to get when you first meet him! Tricks and Commands he knows with or without a treat using hand signals: Sit, Down, Come, stay, Wait, Heel, Come to Heel and Watch Me/Focus Behavioral Commands he understands and Responds to: No, Leave it, Drop it, Off, Yes Macho worked on the following in preparation for his Canine Good Citizens Certificate” 1. Accepted a Friendly Stranger 2. Sitting politely for petting 3. Appearance and Grooming 4. Out for a wall (walking on a loose leash) 5. Walking through a crowd 6. Sit and down on command/Staying in Place 7. Coming when called (recall) 8. Reaction to another dog 9. Reaction to distractions 10. Supervised separation He LOVES toys! Kong Balls, Balls, Nyla Bones are all his favorites, He will suckle a blanket… He misses his mom! Last but not least, his TRICKS! This boy is amazingly smart Sit Pretty, Tippy Toes, Play Dead, Roll Over, Center, Cover, Weave and last but not least Forward/Heel.

The Moberly Animal Shelter is both the Shelter and the Animal Control. The staff members help by picking up stray or lost animals within the City Limits of Moberly, We and also run, clean, and find loving, forever homes for dogs currently residing at the shelter.
We serve the City of Moberly. (City Limits Only) We offer services of adopting animals to the public, and saving stray dogs. When a dog is picked up as a stray it is put on a Stray Hold. This hold is to ensure that the dogs do not have rabies, parvo, or any other illness and it also gives the owners some time to find their dogs.
All dogs that come through the shelter both stray or relinquished are temperament tested as much as possible and then put up for adoption.
If you live in the city limits of Moberly, you will be required to have up to date Rabies vaccinations.
