My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Handsome Atlas is a Golden Retriever Mix and other breeds, and is about 85 lbs of LOVIN'!  Atlas is completely housebroken and he LOVES to play with other dogs and he LOVES children. Maybe he is exactly the pet you are looking for to complete your family!  He would love to start the new year with a furever family.  Why don't you schedule a meet and greet to see if he is the pup you've been looking for!  Hi everyone, my name is Atlas. My foster mommy gave me that name because she thought I needed a strong name and what stronger name than that of the God of Strength and Endurance.

I hop around like a bunny rabbit, when I am excited., I am on medicine daily and have daily stretches that I do. Between these things, the doctor has said that my range of motion is good and right now, and possibly for the rest of my life, I will not require surgery. I get along with other dogs, cats, hamsters, bearded dragons, kids, and all people. I’m a little shy at first and grumble at new people once I get comfortable in my environment but, it’s just because I am learning to trust. Being a mix of great Pyrenees, Anatolian, shepherd, and golden retriever, I am 85lbs pounds of pure love who also thinks that I am a lap dog.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
