My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rexie!  I am a handsome two year old lab and a medium size at 65 lbs, who is very excited to meet her forever companion.  She is probably 65lbs now, he’s very well socialized with other dogs and people, great with teens. He’s a happy boy and really needs a forever home, he likes to nap at your feet (at work station). He’s strong and sweet.

He was rescued from a neglectful situation.  He  is in a very loving foster home now who really care about me so I am learning all sorts of new things.  . He does like to sleep in his crate at night or with her  favorite teenager!  It feels so good to be next to someone.  She likes toys,  She enjoys  chasing squirrels. She is super smart, and very trainable.    He is really good at sitting and waiting for herfood.  I could easily be a support dog of any caliber.

I ride in the car extremely well. I love going to the dog park and you should see me run!! I run super fast but still can't run as fast as those squirrels. LOL.  . I am not aggressive at all towards any other animals at the park. I do like to try and investigate our cat that lives here….he does not seem to like me though. I’m well socialized, I hardly ever bark – but when I do it’s really deep/loud. No one will dare come in the house if they hear my bark. (I don’t bark at door bells or knocks, only when I see someone tall and looming out the front window

My current foster family does not want me to go to a shelter because they know what might happen.  . I need a more active family. .I come with all my gear. I’m chipped, vaccinated and neutered. I have a crate, a few dog food bowls, giant water bowl, slow eater bowl, my favorite toys, a harness and leash that are high quality,  sheets for my mattress and all the other things my rescuer and current foster has for me.  I am a good boy!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
