My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jett Ranger, a male Boston Terrier looking to be the only dog in his forever home. He is happy with adults or older teens, and will likely thrive in a calm, stable environment with consistent routines. Jett is eager to please and is loyal and protective of his family. He is quite smart and is highly motived by food and affection. Jett enjoys spending time outside exploring and sleeping in the sun, so a fenced yard with enough room to run is ideal.  A daily walk to burn off some energy and explore would be a plus. He also quite likes a soft blanket for naps and is happiest snuggled in bed or on a couch next to his humans.

Likes/Dislikes
Toys: Jett is VERY motivated by food and enjoys toys that dispense treats/dry food. He needs the mental challenge, likes to chase balls, frisbees, etc but does not like to return them!
People: Good with men and women. Very loving and loyal to care giver, likes to be with people.
Kids:  Not good with infants or small children. Not sure about older children - teens would be okay.
Car Rides: Improving - he used to be quite nervous, but has gotten more comfortable.
Separation: Fine for longer periods in his pen- mostly naps. Not sure if he is left free to roam.
Noises: Jett gets excited and agitated by certain specific items (e.g., ladders, packaging tape, leaf blowers), loud noises and large gestures.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "the new moxie-doxy" treatment for heart worms).

It is our expectation & a requirement that heartworm preventative be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.

More about this rescue

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers for many years, we are very familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.
