ADOPTION PENDING

My name is Sammy, and I know it... especially at mealtime. I found myself in the shelter after being confiscated from a hoarding situation. I got a new lease on life when Me and My Shadow Dog Rescue took me in. You can tell from my picture that I have not missed any meals. I was so overweight that I could barely walk. My foster family has me on a diet and exercise program, and as of today (1/17/2024) I have lost 2.5 pounds and have 6 or so more to go.

I am a very social guy and want to be part of whatever is going on. I love to be brushed and petted and go on (short) walks. I can't walk very far, although I'm increasing my endurance as my weight drops. I sleep quietly in my crate at night (other than snoring).

I know to do my business outside. I can't fit through the doggie door and have a hard time with steps so I need someone to help me get outside and back in. Hopefully I'll be able to let myself in and out once I lose a few more pounds. I am neutered, up-to-date on my shots, and scheduled for a dental on 1/25/2024.
