My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello. I'm a sweet older girl who needs an emotional support human in my life. Each day, I work hard here at the shelter to become more comfortable with new things. Lately, I have really enjoyed the long walks with staff and volunteers. I like to meet people more than once, it makes me feel more comfortable and is something I hope you are willing to do if you want to adopt me. If you would like to get to know me on a more personal level, please call TCRAS at 719-686-7707. I have been here for a long time and feel ready to meet my new family.

Additional adoption info

To adopt:
All adoptions must be done in person. Visit the shelter to meet the adoptable animals you would like to consider. TCRAS is open 6 days a week, please see hours of operation.

Your visit with each animal will be assisted by a trained adoption specialist to answer questions, address concerns and to help you decide if the animal is a good fit for your home environment (i.e. children, other pets, specific needs, etc). You can also bring in your current pets to do a visitation (this may be required with certain animals).

More about this shelter

In the year 2000, the Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (TCRAS) was formed and continued under this leadership to the present day. Our shelter is a small, rural shelter. Every year, over 800 lost, abandoned, neglected, or homeless dogs and cats get assistance from TCRAS. We do not euthanize for time or space.
