Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Spice is approximately 4-5 years old and maybe 14 pounds. Per her wonderful foster mommy: "If you are looking for a little SPICE in your life, I am the one. I promise to love you forever. I am energetic and make a great alarm system. We can share the furniture and I will let you play with my toys. I do not like being in a crate. I will cry when you leave but promise to be happy and in good spirits when you return. I promise to bark at anyone coming to door. Please make sure I can see out. The back of a couch works great for me. My foster mom is not much on company so I have to warn her by barking anytime someone is approaching the house. That is my job and I take it very seriously. I will never ask you to cook for me as my special diet and have to avoid many foods. People foods are a no, no even when I look sad and growl to get them. I won't bite but I want you to know I am there and you are not sharing. If you ignore me I promise to remind you by growling to get your attention. I hope you have a large bed because I insist on sleeping with you. I can jump pretty high so don't think that will discourage me. If all else fails I can whine and make you feel guilty. I like staying on top of the covers and not under them. If you get out of bed I will keep your pillow warm for you. I need to be groomed about every 8 weeks and love being brushed. I am smart and try to avoid taking meds monthly. My foster mom tricks me into taking them. I hate being alone so I would prefer my new home to have a stay at home arrangement or I will gladly go with you. I ride well in vehicles and try to always look good. I like a fenced yard. I am house trained and go out to my business but don't care to stay out long unless you are with me."
Here is more info. Spice is showing in her foster home that she really wants to be the only dog getting all the attention to herself. She was found as a stray in mid-September - recent haircut, but COVERED in fleas and very infected from what turned out to be bladder stones. Also liquid diarrhea. The shelter took her to the Vet and did some great initial vetting, bless them. Rescue got her around the 20th and she was started on antibiotics and dewormed again. She was well enough for her spay and bladder stone surgery on October 2nd. Because testing showed she would continue to be prone to bladder stones without a special Vet diet, she can eat only Royal Canin SO or Hill's CD. She is sweet, affectionate, and smart.
