My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet kitty is named Momo because it is Japanese for peach, which her foster mom noted in her peachy color and sweet disposition. Momo is a cuddle bug who will happily accept attention all day long. She’s a lap cat who also enjoys snuggling up with you while you sleep. She loves kisses and will give you head bumps. Momo will lay in your arms, or on you while you fall asleep, but usually moves to another spot on the bed once you’re asleep. This kitty is a camper and sometimes she enjoys “camping” under the covers with you.

Momo will seek you out and comes when you talk to her. She’s not shy and warms up quickly to people, even kids. She is fine on her own, but wouldn’t mind an older, mellower cat who mind their own business. She loves to play with string and soft, fuzzy toys. She also enjoys catnip and looking out the window.

Her previous owners had her chipped and teeth removed but didn’t want her back when she was found on the streets. She still has all her claws, but doesn’t scratch the furniture if provided with scratching posts.

Momo really is a peach!

CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home.

At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally, cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone.

Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home.

Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster-based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
