Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Maui (aka- Mr. Playful), and I am a 3-year-old male around 60 pounds. My foster mommy wonders if my original owners called me Maui because one of my eyes is partially blue, like the sea. Since coming to CEBR, I got my cherry eyes fixed, and now I can see the whole world around me much better.
My foster parents think I act a lot like a puppy as I love to play ALOT and I do not discriminate against any toys, I love to play with them all. I am potty trained, getting used to having my wrinkles cleaned, and have learned to do a lot of things while living with my foster family, but my most favorite thing of all, is to sit for a treat. Who knew sitting could be so fun! I also love scratches. Sometimes when I back up to you, I might just turn over against your leg and fall to the floor to get my belly scratched. My non-furry foster siblings love this about me. They also love the way my tongue or my teeth might hang out of my mouth depending on the moment.
In addition to play, I love to walk. My foster family lives on a dead-end road which ends up being a ¼ of mile. Perfect for us bulldogs. It took a while to understand this whole leash thing and understand where I belong but now, I get it.
I have a few things that my foster family is working with me on. I like to lunge at cars on walks, but my foster dad has been helping me to understand these big moving things are not something I should be chasing and can share some strategies that are working. I also can get overly excited and guard a toy or my bed. My foster family is working with me on these issues, and I will need a forever family who will help me continue to learn and grow as a dog. I like to work hard at learning new things and now that I know about this whole treat thing, I think I can figure this all out.
My forever home should have a yard, I just love to play so much and because of my activity level it would probably be best to be in a home with older kids and someone who is home part time at least. I have been around other dogs and might do good with another dog but think it would be best to start off as the only dog and work on socialization, and training. Most of all I just want somewhere to stay forever.
If you are looking for someone to play with and are willing to train me, I will let you scratch my belly forever!
