My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a loyal adventure buddy with the cutest radar ears ever? Meet Toby, our longest resident! This sweet and smart 4-year-old, 52 lb shepherd mix is ready for a lifetime of outdoor fun with his forever family. Toby has completed professional training and is now ready to show off his amazing manners and love for adventure.

Toby is affectionate, enjoys meeting new people, and has lived with children before. For the best match, we recommend a home with older kids, though he’s been around smaller children and does well with them, he can try to be boss. Toby is friendly with other dogs but can be selective—he prefers dogs that are more laid-back, as he can be dominant in play. His stance on cats is still unknown.

An active family is ideal for Toby, as he thrives with enrichment and exercise. He’s learned a lot during his time with Gypsy K9 Solutions and would be an excellent hiking buddy or partner for any outdoor activities. While he came to training with some guarding tendencies, he’s made incredible progress and now responds beautifully to the “release” command. A strong, consistent owner who continues his training will help him thrive in his new home.

Toby is house and crate trained, and he’s trusted to be left out of the crate when home alone. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, preventatives, and is a heartworm survivor—now negative!

Toby is currently hanging out with our friends at Gypsy K9 Solutions in Gettysburg, PA. Apply today, and once approved, you can meet this incredible guy and see firsthand all the amazing skills he’s mastered!

We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. Learn more about adopting from us or volunteering for us at www.pack9rescue.org or check us out on Facebook for more information and a complete list of dogs available for adoption.           https://www.facebook.com/PaCaringForK9s/
