**Jaya is currently in a foster home! She is available for adoption. Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet + greet! **
Meet Jaya, a truly sweet and loving girl who may be a little shy at first, but with a touch of patience and understanding, she’ll blossom into the most devoted companion you could ever wish for. Though she might take a bit longer to warm up to male-presenting individuals, once Jaya feels secure, her delightful personality truly shines.
Jaya is curious and playful, always eager to explore new sights and sniff out adventures. Whether she`s enjoying a relaxing stroll by the lakefront or cozying up for a nap at home, Jaya is happiest when she’s by her human’s side. Speaking of naps, this girl is a snoozing superstar, mastering the art of patience with every nap she takes. For a heart-melting peek at her nap-time charm, check out the adorable video on her profile!
Not only is Jaya incredibly cute, but she`s also sharp as a tack! She’s learned a variety of tricks, from sitting and lying down to circling and heeling, and loves practicing these skills with her foster mom. At just 4 years old, Jaya’s journey has been quite the adventure—from being a stray in Southern Illinois to finding her way to Chicago and being adopted from CCR in 2020. Although she had to be returned due to her previous owners` unstable housing situation, she’s now ready to find her perfect forever home.
If you’re patient, kind-hearted, and ready to build a lifelong bond, Jaya is waiting to meet you. She’s a sweet and shy pup with a heart full of love, just waiting for her happily ever after!

More about this shelter
CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
