Dog's Name: Ivy (IVY1123BIBFDHW)
Estimated Breed: Hound Mix
Approximate Age: 2-3 years
Approximate Weight: 40 lbs
Currently Living at: Foster
Adoption Fee: $450
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: If you are looking for a lovely natured dog, then you’ve found her! Ivy was a devoted momma who has raised her babies from the E Litter and is now ready to find a loving family and forever home where she can be spoiled rotten! She is very sweet and loving, and will lap up all the affection she can get! Ivy is not much of a barker, she is well crate trained and good with the other dogs she is getting to know in her foster home. She is low to medium energy and loves playing with other dogs...her favority friends in Foster home are Violet, Carter, and Bubba. She prefers a calmer environment and is nervous with city living, but could probably handle being in a more suburban apartment as she is not a barker. In her past life, someone may have been heavy handled with her as she cowers if you raise your hand or move too quickly. Despite this, Ivy has a great temperament and, with lots of love and attention, she will make a wonderful companion. She loves to play in shallow water and splash around. Unfortunately, Ivy WAS heartworm positive, but good news is she has been treated and has fully recovered! K-9 Lifesavers provided her life saving treatment, so she is now healthy, happy and looking to be a member of one lucky family!

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
