My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I’m Posey, and to say I’m overwhelmed by shelter life is an understatement. I’ve spent the past nine months huddled in this fetal position, making myself so small that I wonder if anyone can see me.

My caretakers try to comfort me and reassure me that everything will be okay. But I don’t feel comfortable being myself in a hectic environment with so many new faces around me. It makes it incredibly difficult for me to open my heart to anyone.

I’m writing this heartfelt plea in the hope that there is an extra kind and patient human out there who could offer a shy soul like me a loving home. I may not be able to show much of my true personality here, but I know that having a true forever friend will help me blossom and thrive.

Could you be the one I’m so desperately longing for? Please contact the shelter or stop in to meet me to see if we might make a perfect match.

*Posey has spent most of her life so far at the SPCA. She’s very timid around new people, but has recently made significant progress in allowing others to gently pet her. She would do best in a calm, quiet home setting with adults and older children. Cats are a comfort to her, so she would be thrilled to live with another feline. Posey requires a home without dogs.
