Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Oliver!
Hi Folks, my name is Ollie. I suppose that is short for Oliver, but my foster mom only uses that when she wants my attention. I know what you are thinking, “How did this handsome hunk of Doxi end up on the adoption market?” It’s a question, I am left asking myself, but I suppose the answer is simple, my prior people let me down. At this point, it doesn’t really matter. My foster mom is great, and she spoils me. There isn’t anything wrong with me, I am a happy and healthy 25 pound adult. I am very young and full of energy. I love to play with you, and with toys, I enjoy belly and butt rubs, curling up on your lap or next to you on the sofa while we watch tv or read a book. In true dachshund form, I love to curl under the blankets and bed covers. I enjoy walks at sunrise and sunset, well any time of the day really and it doesn’t matter if it is snowing or raining, I still like to go out and enjoy the day. I love to run and jump and play. Superman is my hero, I use my extremely strong and powerful body to leap through the air and fly just like him. But foster mom says I need to be careful not to hurt myself. I love other dogs, but I'm not sure about cats as I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting any. I enjoy a healthy diet of kibble and homemade toppings of beef, vegetables, and dairy. I am housebroken and do all my business outside and will wait by the door if I have to go potty.
Well, enough about me, let's talk about what I need from you. I need you to be strong because I am extremely solid and strong, and you need to be able to handle me on walks. I did mention I love walks, right! I need you to be patient and understanding with me and try not to yell because I don’t like that. It makes me cower. I like to lay next to you, but don’t really like to be laid on, so if there are little kids, I just need them to understand that about me. I grumble, and sometimes it means I am enjoying something, and sometimes it means I want you to stop. I know that is complicated, but I promise I am not. Really, I am just a dog, standing in front of a family, looking for them to love me!
