GOOD IN A HOME WITH
Other dogs, children, other animals. People! He's a lover! He gets along with the female dogs. Must be experienced dog owners as he is somewhat reactive towards men he doesn't know. But with time and treats, he's easily won over. We think he was mistreated by a man in his former life. As excited as you are about showing off Bruty and his good looks - he has been in the Kennel for 4 years - so he needs time to feel at home. We would suggest no introductions for at least a month. We also suggest a trainer to set him up for success at your home. He's wonderful - he just gets nervous in new situations. A qualified trainer will help with that.
Meet Brutus
Poor Brutus has been at Castoff Pet Rescue for 4 years! Isn't it time he found a home of his own? We have no idea why someone hasn't picked Bruty-Brut for their own best bud.
He is a gentle guy who loves love! Who wouldn't like a 8 year old gentleman who loves kisses, and although he is 8, is still active and fun to go walking with. He is a medium sized dog who weights around 45 pounds so he is the perfect size! He still has a lot of energy.
He is nervous of new folks, so if considering Bruty, you'll need to make multiple meet and greets with his foster for him to get to know you. Consider it like dating. First you visit for a walk around a park, then some visits see if you are a good fit for each other. Brutus wins over everyone he's involved with. He's a lover.
Brutus is housebroken, fully vetted, active and settles in nicely as a cuddle bug. He is dog selective and prefers females. He prefers no cats. He would be amazing for a family that could shower him with the love he has missed out on for the last 4 years he has spent in the shelter!
Please consider adding this loving boy a home of his own at last!!

More about this rescue
The mission of Castoff Pet Rescue is to save and nurture homeless dogs; to match companion animals with loving, life-long homes; to foster responsible pet care; to control overpopulation in our community through spay/neuter programs; and to assist other shelters and rescue groups in any endeavor to benefit the animals. We believe that the same kindness, compassion, and generosity we extend to our two-legged neighbors should be given to our four-legged friends because they are not able to speak for themselves.
