Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Prince Charming is about 7 years old (born approximately May 2016) and he was first discovered under someone’s pool deck with his siblings as a tiny kitten. Only he and his sister, Sweet Pea, (also on Petfinder) were fortunate enough to survive and with the help of a wise neighbor, they were both fixed at an appropriate age before they could start having babies of their own. That person wasn’t able to bring them inside so they were primarily outside cats being cared for by the neighborhood until recently when a kind lady moved in and decided to bring them inside and help socialize them.
Prince Charming received his name because he is indeed a “charmer” with a loud purr and his motor will start almost immediately when he is being petted. He will lay on your lap and stretch out his long arms on you and happily fall asleep in the comfort of your lap. He is very sweet and has a regal nose and profile in his foster mom’s words. He will be timid when he first meets a stranger but is not aggressive at all and will gradually warm up once he realizes the person is safe. Due to his past life, he will still occasionally ask to go outside but per Reuben’s Room policy, we will ask that you keep him inside only unless you have a screened in porch or catio that he cannot escape from. There are just too many dangers outside for him. His new family will need to have a good setup so that he cannot sneak out the door.
Prince Charming enjoys kneading on a soft blanket and he will need a home with scratchers and a scratching post so that he is sure to use those instead of furniture. He will do fine with other laid back cats with a proper introduction but he is currently terrified of dogs due to an incident when he was an outdoor cat so a home without them will be the best choice for him unless the dog is very laid back and ignores him. He gets along well with his sister Sweet Pea so if you are looking for two cats, they will be a good duo for you but they also can be adopted separately. He will do best in a home without small children because the extra noises may scare him.
His foster mom describes him as the “perfect pur-ever boyfriend.” Prince Charming enjoys playing especially with toys that allow him to hunt and chase things such as wand toys and a laser light. He will happily sleep with you and may even do so right on your chest if you allow him to. He will need patience to adjust to a new setting and will be scared initially but he will come around quickly especially if a reward involves Temptations treats.
Prince Charming would love to join your home and family. Ask for an application today to add this sweet loving, playful boy to your home!
