Adoption process :
We do require an approved application for meet and greets. Why? Because otherwise we would be meeting with people who we would not adopt to and it would use a lot of time and resources. Since I do 99.9% of the meet and greets it's my time and gas, remember, we are a self-funded organization, we are judicious in the use of our funds. Though donations are accepted we have not been blessed with receiving many.
Remember we do not have a physical facility you can visit as the insurance companies want us to pay $10,000 dollars to allow visitors. Our rescues are housed in insulated buildings, they enjoy heat and air condition as required. They are not locked up in kennels, although we have them available in the event of need, i.e. surgeries, behavior modification, etc. They have ample space to run and rest, as well as to interact with each other. We have chosen to use the money that the insurance demands to save more lives. Once they graduate from this accommodations, they are housed in our home, they are all house in what used to be a three-car garage that was transformed into an apartment with all the associated commodities. This allows them to learn how to live in a house, not to eat cables, or urinate inside, etc. They also learn how to use a doggie door to use the bathroom.
We do require a fenced yard. Why? Because dogs deserve a safe open area to play in off leash. We do not expect dogs to be left alone in the yard or to be outside dogs. I often hear that. That is not why we require a fence. We do realize this will exclude some people, nonetheless, it is still a requirement. Dog parks are not considered a fenced yard. They can be a very dangerous place for a pup especially when they are puppies.
We also require a home check. Why? Because we want to make sure the home is a safe environment. We do not come to inspect your home for cleanliness or being spotless. Our concern is that it has to be a safe environment.
If the adoption fee is an issue please address that before all other steps are taken. Adoption fees are required to keep the rescue open. We only exist because of adoption fees and our yearly donation to the organization. We are a small rescue with limited funds.
Adoptions are never ever first come first serve. We evaluate two applicants at a time, and reserve the right to choose which applicant in our opinion is the best fit for the dog/cat. Applications are accepted until we get a good match. It may take 1 application for that or it may take 10.
We try our very best to get forever homes not right now homes. Oftentimes people do not research breeds before applying and they are not the best match.
If you have questions about a dog know that comments are missed if you write them on Facebook, or any other social media site where our dogs/cats are promoted, so please message the page or send an email to ycmad2733@gmail.com, if you chose to text us, please include your name and the name of the dog/cat you are interested in, unfortunately, I can no longer remember what telephone belongs to you. Otherwise, call 850-792-2152, or email ycmad2733@gmail.com.
We appreciate your assistance and understanding!
Tito came to us a transfer from another rescue. He is about 1 year old, male, current on shots, neutered and microchipped. Tito relates very well with other dogs, is very loving towards humans and wants to please. He learned very quickly how to use a doggie door, He is energetic and likes to learn new activities. Tito interacts very well with both male and female humans. He would be an asset to any household.
