My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Toby is a 5 year old 12 pound yorkie boy who is being fostered in Vero Beach, FL.

Updated Bio 1/29/24: Toby is ready for adoption! He is up to date on his vaccines and has had his dental. He did not lose any teeth, yay! When Toby arrived we noticed right away that he had a yeast infection on his skin. It turned out that there was a bacterial infection and a double ear infection as well. We are happy to report that with antibiotics and multiple medicated baths, his infections are gone! Toby's hair had been shaved, but it is growing in nicely and he is a handsome boy who will have a beautiful coat.

There are Velcro dog and super Velcro dog categories. Toby falls in the latter. He loves to be as close to his humans as possible. He will need stay at or work from home parents Toby can be a little mischievous, he tries to sneak out! He is very very fast and can jump really high. A secure fence is a must. Since he doesn't really play with other dogs, and prefers humans he would like to be an only dog. A calm female about his size might be good. We don't really know about cats. We can only guess that he would not like them.

He rides ok in the car. Toby can be a little nervous. Toby arrived with very little if any house manners. We are happy to report that he no longer needs a belly band. With close monitoring and frequent trips outside to learn the proper place to potty, he is doing incredibly well. He loves his food and treats. Toby is food motivated and with treats he learns quickly.

What Toby needs in his perfect home:
1. A secure fence
2. At least one stay at home parent
3. Prefers to be an only pet
4. An active lifestyle
