Scott is a teenage dog looking for his forever family! He spent the first part of his life in a backyard and was brought in right before that first big winter storm we had. He is currently in a foster home with cats and other dogs and is doing well with both. He is a bit apprehensive about a leash and is working everyday to get better with that. He takes a bit to warm up to you but once he does he is sweet as pie. He is learning all kinds of new things in his foster home and he hopes his new parents will continue to be patient and teach him all kinds of fun things! Scott needs to be in a home without small children. He would love for his dog sibling to be social and confident so they could show him the ropes! Scott would prefer a quieter home with a fenced yard to play and feel safe!
Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time!
All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption.
Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.

Additional adoption info
We firmly believe that EVERYONE deserves the love of a pet, and strive to make our adoption process a positive one!
When you visit our Adoption Center in Raytown, our amazing Matchmakers will go to work helping match you with your perfect pet! If you would like to meet a pet currently located in a foster home, please email foster@marqkc.org and the foster parent will then be in contact to set up a time to meet at the shelter.
Midwest Animal ResQ provides medical treatment for all animals that come into our care. Some pets come to us injured or sick, and require an extraordinary amount of medical intervention. Variable adoption pricing allows us to continue to do more for those animals that need us the very most! Currently our average adoption fees do not begin to cover our average medical costs, not to mention the other costs associated with animal care, thus our fees are not negotiable. Thank you for understanding!
To adopt any animal, a government issued ID is required. For dogs we do require a well fitting collar or harness and a leash, you are welcome to bring those with you, or we have them for sale at the shelter for $5-$15. For cats we require a secure carrier, if you don’t have one, we sell cardboard carriers for $10 at the shelter. You will also receive a copy of all current health records.
We look forward to seeing you, and hopefully matching you with your perfect match!
