My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy is not home yet but she may be swept home by you! Lucy is a go-getter sort of lady that is ready to adventure, see the world, meet new people and dogs. With her enthusiasm and zest for life-Lucy is really working on her self-care skills, taking a break, and learning to settle by herself. After all, we do love an independent lady! Sometimes playing too much and going too long on adventures can be just too much excitement so taking breaks and letting each person know how to take a break teaches her to moderate herself. She's progressed excellently. She recently went on a Foster respite, and she was an absolute pleasure. Reports say she loved a trip to the beach, rode pleasantly in the car, and got along really well with resident dogs, happily sleeping next to them at night. She is noted to be incredibly loyal and active, and is a great companion for any and all outdoor adventures and snuggle fests on the couch. Lucy is a bubbly lady with lots of love and smarts, so if you are ready for an adventure of a lifetime, please come on in to our adoption center to meet this gem of a dog!

Foster-to-Adopt!
Think you and Lucy might be a match, but you want to do a trial run at home first? You can foster Lucy-meaning you'll take them home for one week with the intention of adopting them at the end of their stay. If things don't work out, you can always bring them back to us.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
