Here's what the humans have to say about me:
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY!
🐾 Meet Bernard - affectionately nicknamed Phineas (Phinney) by his fosterst! 🐾
Phineas, affectionately known as Phinney, is a delightful 5-pound Chihuahua estimated to be around 12 years young. This charming little fellow quickly adapted to his new name and has become an endearing member of his foster family.
🎒 Background:
Rescued at a petite 4.61 pounds, Phinney has now gained a bit more weight, reaching a robust 5 pounds. Despite his small size, he's not a purse dog – he carries himself with the confidence of a much larger canine.
🏞️ Adventurous Spirit:
Phinney had to learn the ropes of going for walks, but now, he absolutely loves it! He walks at a brisk pace, exploring all his favorite sniffing spots and even trying to chase birds. This little explorer is a joy on a leash and relishes walks in the park.
🚽 Potty Perfection:
Phinney is fully potty trained, mastering the skill in just two days. His foster family takes him for short walks every three hours to keep him content and his routine intact.
🍽️ Dining Etiquette:
With a hearty appetite, Phinney enjoys four smaller meals throughout the day to avoid mild indigestion. After his meals, he exhibits gentlemanly behavior by using a "napkin" – wiping his face on his blanket.
🐾 Social Skills:
Phinney gets along well with other small dogs, but he tends to get nervous and bark around larger dogs. Ideally, he should be in a home where he is the only dog or with other small canine companions.
👶 Family Compatibility:
This sweet soul is good with small children who understand how to be gentle. Due to his size and age, it's recommended that he be in a home with older children who can handle him with care.
🛌 Cuddly Companion:
Phinney loves to cuddle on the couch, either on your lap or under his blankie. At night, he enjoys cuddling with his foster family in bed and then retires to his own bed on the floor, which he adores.
🧠 Intelligence and Affection:
Phinney is a smart and sweet canine who thrives on human interaction. He loves to be talked to and can't resist belly rubs – a surefire way to win his heart.
🌟 Attachment and Transition:
Initially shy and scared, Phinney quickly formed a strong bond with his foster mom. He is looking for a family that will understand and give him time to transition to his forever home.
If you're seeking a loving, intelligent, and adventurous companion, Phinney is the perfect fit! Embrace the joy of having this little big-hearted Chihuahua in your life.
