My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.

A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.

Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.

Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list.

thanks
the CPR Adoption team

Tilly Dec23 - In Foster in Rocky Mount, NC

Date into Rescue: 12/03/2023
Reason for being in rescue: Mama and her babies were found in a dumpster
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet, SC
Special Needs? Tilly is up to date on vaccines for her age. She is spayed. Tilly is a mixed breed puppy. She is 25% chihuahua and 100% good dog. Tilly's DNA suggests that he is a mix of chihuahua, shih tzu, toy poodle, chow chow and american bully. She is 100% adorable! Tilly is available for transport to New York!
Weight: 30 lbs
Height: 16 in
Spayed/Neutered: No

Adoption Fee: $299

Fence needed? Yes, it will give Tilly a great place for exercise, and it will keep her safe.

What kind of home would be best for me? Tilly is an extremely curious and active dog. She loves to explore, play, and bark at anyone and anything that catches her eye. Due to her high energy, she’d thrive in a home with another active dog for companionship and play. However, she is still very young and would be too much for senior dogs, so her companion should be eight (8) years old or younger.

Whether in a house or apartment, Tilly will be happy as long as she gets plenty of exercise and stimulation. If you live in an apartment, you’ll need to make sure she gets regular trips to the dog park or long walks. Tilly will do well with a variety of home environments—whether you're a single person, a couple, or a family. Ideally, we think she’d be happiest in a home with children eight (8) years old or older, and an active dog buddy to keep up with her in the fenced in back yard.

This playful, affectionate girl just wants to be loved and have a family to call her own. If you're looking for a fun, energetic companion who will keep you smiling and laughing, Tilly is the dog for you! As an added bonus Tilly has a cute little underbite that is absolutely adorable!

What is my personality like? Meet Tilly, a one-year-old tiny terrier with a big personality! This little ball of energy is not shy about letting her voice be heard, and she’s ready to find a home where she can be the center of attention and have plenty of fun. Tilly is a happy, enthusiastic puppy who loves everyone she meets. She adores other dogs and is eager to play and socialize. While she hasn’t been tested with cats, her high energy and puppy antics might overwhelm them, so she’d do best in a cat-free home or with a cat-savvy owner who can help her learn the ropes.

While Tilly is already a lot of fun, she is still a puppy and has a lot to learn. She will need leash training and guidance on basic commands like sit, stay, down, and come. She will also need a consistent potty schedule until she is fully house-trained.

No matter who adopts her Tilly will be your ultimate adventure buddy - always ready to go wherever you go. Tilly wants to be by your side no matter what you are doing or where you are going. Going to the store? Tilly says, “Let’s ride!” Off for a hike? Tilly says, “One mile or ten, I’ll be right there with you!” Tilly wants to be by your side, ready for any and all action. After all that excitement, she will happily jump on the couch or chair with you and snuggle up for some cuddles before taking a nap. The most important thing to Tilly is that you are happy, excited, and ready to take on loving and training her!

How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly! Tilly is friendly and outgoing with everyone she meets. She’s never met a stranger—if you’re around, she considers you a friend and playmate!

Other tips and tidbits: Tilly was born on or around 11/23/2023. Tilly and her siblings were found dumped in a trash can along with their mom. They were around 15 days old when found.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.

Thank you for considering CPR.
