My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.

A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.

Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.

Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list.

thanks
the CPR Adoption team

Blaire Dec23

Date into Rescue: 12/03/2023
Reason for being in rescue: Mama and her babies were found in a dumpster
Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet, SC
Special Needs? Blaire is up to date on vaccines for her age. She is spayed. Blaire is a mixed breed puppy. She is 25% chihuahua and 100% good dog. Tilly's DNA suggests that he is a mix of chihuahua, shih tzu, toy poodle, chow chow and american bully. She is 100% adorable!
Weight: 30 lbs and
Height: 14 in
Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Adoption Fee: $299

Fence needed? No

What kind of home would be best for me? Blaire is a young dog with so much potential. Like the shy kid in class, she takes time to get to really know you. Once she knows you, you are her person. Blaire has never known life without another dog in it, and we're looking for a home that can offer her a canine best friend. She is a pretty chill dog for a puppy, great with dogs of all sizes. Blaire has never lived with children, but she's met plenty of them at adoption events. She won't approach a child eagerly but will happily sit in their lap for pets and love.

What is my personality like? Meet Blaire! Who doesn’t love an adorable, little low rider! Blaire's DNA suggest she is a chihuahua/American bully/poodle mix! Who would have ever guessed! All we know for sure is she is 100% a good girl!

Blaire had a slow start in life, as she was rescued along with her mother and pups from a dumpster … and you guessed it, this girl is in dire need of a fur-ever companion! Blaire is pretty medium energy, with a perfect balance of playtime and naps! She absolutely loves yummy treats, and comfy beds which is the best way to win her heart and trust over! She loves to play with other dogs, but nothing over the top. She gets along great with larger and smaller breeds and needs another confident dog in the home to help her build confidence and keep her company.

Blaire has been exposed to many different people at the rescue, but she still needs more socialization and a plan to meet new people and discover unfamiliar places in order to help her come out of her shell more! The good news is, Blaire is young and curious and we have no doubt she will blossom into a loyal & loving companion for you or your family. She is playful and sweet as can be, she truly just needs some time and understanding from her human companions, oh and LOTS of love! Once Blaire figures out she is safe, she is amazing.

Blaire will require a fence to ensure she gets adequate playtime, and enough exercise! She still needs time to learn basic commands and leash etiquette, but she has been exposed recently to off property hikes, and she absolutely loved it and did phenomenal on the leash once she figured out the hang of it! Blaire needs someone to confide in, someone to show her around this big world and most importantly, someone who is willing to be patient with her and celebrate her big and small wins. She is making great progress here at the farm, but she dreams of an understanding, affectionate family to love her unconditionally and if that happens to be you, we hope her story finds you well!

How do I act when I first meet new people? Blaire is timid and submissive until she learns she can trust you. Patience is key here, because Blaire will only bond with her humans if she trusts them and they remain patient with her.

Other tips and tidbits: Blaire and her siblings were found dumped in a trash can along with their mom. They were around 15 days old when found. We celebrate her birthday 11/23/2023. Blaire is available for transport to New York!

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.

Thank you for considering CPR.
