Glover was taken to Bonita Shelter after being found a stray in Ramona, and when he wasn't claimed during his hold period, we scooped him up to become a Frosted Face on September 6, 2022. Glover is around 10 years old and weighs 21 lbs. He let us know upon arrival that he didn't like being his kennel or in the play yard. It was as if he was trying to tell us that he shouldn't be here, because he had a family and home to get back to!
Sadly, no one came for him, and we worked to steadily to earn Glover's trust and to give him enriching activities and experiences. He loves going our weekly FFF hikes, and he has great leash manners, energy and stamina. Glover spent months being foster by FFF's founders, and it was in their home, he truly began to decompress and blossom into a member of a pack and family.
Glover has been living in a Foster home since December 2023, and he continues
"Glover the Lover continues to do well with us. He is slowly coming out of his shell and becoming more settled. He loves his routine and still finds changes or uncertainties difficult. For example, Glover gets spooked easily if furniture is moved or there's a large box in his way, or if he encounters a leaf blower on our walk.
We've taken Glover on some camping trips, and he's definitely emboldened when in the company of our two other dogs. He loves to follow them around and definitely feels part of the pack. However, he does still on occasion grumble at one of them if they're in his way.
Glover is so much more relaxed with us and around us, his ears spend more time up with curiosity and less time down with fear. He's definitely very attached to his humans now.
Glover happily trots along with our dogs, taking time to smell all the smells along the way. He knows where he lives, finds his way on leash up the front walkway, and has not been tempted to do a runner out of the front door. We've taken him out a lot more in the car, which he seems to really enjoy.
We are very happy to continue fostering him!"
Glover has a patient and loving foster family, who celebrates each and every bit of progress he makes!
