My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Koa is such a smart cookie!! He is currently in foster with a dog trainer and they have concentrated on refining his down command and formalizing his place, sit, and here/heel commands. He has picked up everything quickly and is making great strides in his training. But they have also discovered that he enjoys being a lap dog and loves to cuddle, too!!

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
