Meet “Bilbo, the Brave” and help him continue his Journey of Discovery and Growth
Just as the original Bilbo from” The Hobbit” was hesitant but brave, this Bilbo has faced his own challenges. After an 8- month stay at the shelter he is shedding his fearful self in his foster home, emerging stronger, ready for his forever home. Here are some parallels between Bilbo and his literary counterpart: - **A Sweet and Loving Companion**: Much like the Bilbo who grew to care deeply for his companions, this Bilbo may have been through tough times, but remains sweet and loving, always ready to snuggle up by your side and offer his belly for rubs and his nose for kisses. - **The Pull of Adventure**: Like the Hobbit who couldn`t resist the call of the road, this Bilbo is so eager to explore that he sometimes pulls hard on his walks. But with some training under his belt he’s learning to enjoy the journey at a pace that suits everyone. - **Fun and Excitement in Play**: Bilbo Baggins was never one to back down from a challenge, and our Bilbo is the same. He’ll entice his humans to go all out in play, sometimes getting a bit mouthy, but it`s all in good fun. With guidance, he`s already learning that humans are not doggie playmates . - **A Desire for Fellowship**: Like Bilbo Baggins, he longs for companionship. He’s eager to make human and canine friends and would love nothing more than to join a fellowship of other dogs to romp and play. - **Enjoying his Precious **: Much like how Bilbo faced dragons to get to his ring , our Bilbo is highly motivated by food and treats. This makes training a breeze, as he`s always ready to earn his next reward with a well-executed sit or down. - **Rediscovering the Joys of Freedom**: After spending almost a year in the shelter, Bilbo is rediscovering the simple pleasures of life, much like how the original Bilbo learned to appreciate the beauty of the Shire. He loves nothing more than rolling in the grass, enjoying nature and the freedom he once lost.
This Bilbo’s journey echoes the adventure and growth of his literary counterpart. Those who know and love him can see the hero in him—a brave and loving dog ready for his forever home.
