Hi! My given name is BJ, but I don't overly care for it and respond best to Bud or Buddy. I am somewhere around 11 months and am fully up to date on my shots, flea treatment and HW prevention. I am also neutered! Enough of the boring stuff, let me tell you about the fun! My foster mom says I'm a pretty smart boy. She is trying very hard to potty train me and I think I'm catching on. I love the training treats. I am also learning to sit and not jump on people (the jumping is harder for me to not do, but I'm trying). I do well in crates too. I get along great with my foster siblings (a cat and dog) - some days the cat doesn't like me, but I just leave her alone and in a few hours she's over her mood. I go to work every day with my foster mom and I meet all kinds of really cool people. Some of them have even let me get in the ambulances, best dog day ever! I love walks, but sometimes I get really excited and pull. I also love snuggles and love sleeping in bed. I love pup cups, and big dog chews (Sundays is the day we all get a brand new big bone and I sit so pretty while I wait for it to be unwrapped) My foster mom says I am the sweetest puppy ever. I love my human foster brother and baby cousins, they love to play with me and I love to play with them... I have to be gentle with the little one, but my foster mom says I'm doing great at being gentle and adapting to my surroundings. He even grabbed my bone from me and I didn't mind sharing, my foster mom wasn't a fan of him eating my bone though- I don't know why, it's so delicious. I am a puppy and am getting used to being a puppy so sometimes I get under peoples feet, and get excited and spin circles, and do puppy things. I don't bark a whole lot, honestly rarely ever, no one has time for that noise. My foster mom says I'll be with her and my human foster brother for a while and she said if anyone wants to meet me to please reach out to her or PRAS and she will bring me to meet you. These are some pictures of how adorable I am.... PS my foster mom said I would be great as an emotional support animal, I run for cuddles when any of the littles are upset, I give them all the kisses and make them smile. When she cut her finger I stayed super close to make sure she was ok and gave her all the kisses too.

PRAS supports the Adopter’s Welcome Philosophy in removing unnecessary barriers in the adoption process, and trust that our adopters have come prepared. Our dedicated Adoption Specialists are more than ready to answer any of your questions about the animal you are looking to adopt. We will provide you with the appropriate education for the best success as they transition from our shelter to your home.
Check In
Once you have seen an animal you would like to meet and possibly adopt; you must check in with our front desk team.
Fill out Animal Questionnaire
If you haven’t already done so- you will then be asked to fill out an Animal Interest Questionnaire. Once this is complete hand it back with our front desk staff who will then place your name on our Meet and Greet Board. PRAS does it’s very best to accommodate as many adoptions as we can during our open Adoption Hours.
Once your name has been placed on the board and we have confirmed your meet and greet, you can walk freely through the building until your Adoption Specialist is available to meet with you.
Meet with our Adoption Specialists
You and your Adoption Specialist will then sit down to discuss the animal and it’s known history while housed at PRAS. Then the Specialist will bring the animal in to meet with you. If you and your Specialist agree that this is a good match for you and your family, you will then be able to finalize your adoption the same day.
Make it official
After you have met the animal you are then ready to make them an official member of your family. You will sit down with a guest services staff member to finalize your adoption contract and receive all of the animal’s records.

After you have had a chance to look around at all of our amazing animals for adoption you will then need to complete an Animal Interest Questionnaire if you would like to interact to adopt a particular animal. Filling out an adoption survey head of time does not serve as an adoption hold for that animal. PRAS Adoptions are on a first available basis.
